Stuffed Pizza Breadsticks

cheesy goodness
Pizza is one of my favorite foods. It's a delicious combination of toppings, cheese, and bread. It's versatile enough that I can eat it for a few meals in a row, but simple enough that it's easy to throw together as a meal.

Using some store-bought pizza dough, I made some super easy pizza-stuffed breadsticks. These look nice, are easy to dip, and can be made smaller or larger as the occasion demands. They have the same versatility as normal pizza. I used varying combinations of sausage, pepperoni, bell pepper, pineapple, and ham in mine as they are the prefered toppings in my house.

Stuffed Pizza Breadsticks

Ingredients
1 tube of pizza dough (I used Pillsbury, you could also make your own)
about 6 oz of mozzarella cheese
pizza sauce
a couple of Tbsps of parmesan cheese shredded
Toppings of your choice

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350.

Unroll tube of dough (or roll out your fancy dough) into a rectangle. For the tube, I sliced in half longwise and then into pieces about 2.5 inches wide. It made about 10 rectangles.

Place toppings in the center with a long, thin piece of mozzarella. About 1/2" square and a little shorter than the piece of dough. Pull dough around and pinch together. Place seam side down on a baking sheet. Repeat until all breadsticks are stuffed, making sure they are about 1" apart on the baking sheet.. I topped mine with some shredded parmesan cheese and italian seasoning. Garlic powder would also be good.

Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Some of them may have mozzarella come out if they are not completely sealed--they will still taste good, don't worry.

Serve warm with tomato sauce for dipping.

These were super tasty! The leftovers were also delicious for breakfast the next morning!
